Our game night didn’t turn out as planned last Monday.
Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to postpone the Minute to Win It Game Night until a later date. We did, however, manage to throw together a pretty fun time of a combination Pictionary/Charades game night.
I was feeling pretty confident in my artistic skills until my ironing board was perceived as a fishing hole. My team got beat by one point, so I guess we will have to challenge the other team to a rematch. They say laughter is the best medicine. If that is so, then this group should stay pretty healthy.
We will try to set up another game night and reschedule the Minute to Win It night after things get back to a little more normal. Right now might be a good time to stay inside with a good book or a good movie.
We have new DVDs ready to check out. These were all purchased with funds from the Tocker Foundation Grant the library received last spring. We have all four in the Hunger Games series: “The Hunger Games,” “Catching Fire,” “Mockingjay-Part 1,” and “Mockingjay-Part 2.” All are rated PG-13.
Released in 2020 from Universal Studios, we have “News of the World” starring Tom Hanks. From New York Times bestselling author of horror Stephen King, we have the two-movie collection of “It” and “It Chapter Two. If creepy clowns are not for you we have “Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob.”
Also courtesy of funds from the Tocker Foundation we have some new large print books. From New York Times bestselling author James Patterson and Richard DiLallo we have “The Paris Detective.” Also from James Patterson we have “Fear No Evil” and “The Defense Lawyer.”
From the author that People magazine calls “the master of ticking-bomb suspense,” Jeffrey Deaver, we have “The Midnight Lock,” a Lincoln Rhyme novel. We also have what the Wall Street Journal calls one of the best mysteries of the year, in John Grisham’s “The Judge’s List.” From New York Times bestselling author Jodi Thomas we have “Dinner on Primrose Hill.”
Check it all out at the library!
