The Gamma Eta Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International held its first meeting of the 2021 school year at First Baptist Church in Crosbyton on Monday, Sept. 13, 2021. Twelve members and two guests were present. President Terri Egerton of Lubbock addressed the group with a few important announcements. The finance report was given by treasurer Sharon McDougle.
Brags were given by several members, including Pat Hightower of Spur, who received a $1,500 grant for her Spur ISD classroom. Information was discussed about Area 12 workshop coming in 2022. Members were reminded of upcoming dates and programs for the 2021–22 year.
First vice president Tiffany Harkins of Lubbock recognized members who had perfect attendance at 2020–21 meetings: Donna Anderson, K Dee Anderson, Terri Egerton and Jean Williams, all of Lubbock; Debbi Ball of Spur; Sharon McDougle of Crosbyton; and Janie Wigley of Allen.
Chapter members voted to form a committee consisting of Tiffany Harkins, Debbi Ball and K Dee Anderson to send out information about ASTEF stipends that are available through Gamma Eta to local school districts to help finance a school, classroom or individual project.
Terri Egerton presented the Gamma Eta Angel to Debbi Ball. Members present had a fun-filled night of playing board games and fellowship.
