While parents and kids everywhere have been anticipating a different sort of Halloween this year on account of Covid prevention measures, there are still plenty of safe ways to celebrate the season around the region.
HAUNTED HOUSES
Aspermont, Oct. 24
The Aspermont Fall Festival will be held Sat., Oct. 24, and will feature a haunted house, talent show, cupcake walk, live music, chili cook-off, street tacos, photo booth and more.
The event will be at the parking lot of the Aspermont Elementary School, 528 E. 7th St., Aspermont, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Post, through Oct. 31
The Old Mill Trade Days is hosting its third annual Haunted House, located at 318 S. F Street in Post.
Haunted House days will be Saturdays and Sundays through Halloween, and the hours will be 7–10 p.m. every night, except Halloween when it will be open until midnight.
Admission is $5.
TRUNK OR TREAT
Floydada, Oct. 30
The Floydada Chamber of Commerce will be hosting Trunk or Treat around Charles Tyler Football Stadium during halftime of the Floydada Whirlwinds varsity game on Friday, Oct. 30, at approximately 8 p.m.
The Floydada Chamber is looking for volunteers to hand out candy. This could be any local youth groups, student organizations, community responders.
The Chamber will have candy available, but volunteers are welcome to provide some as well. The Chamber is encouraging social distancing and masks, but masks will not be required.
Prizes will be awarded for decorated cars (1st, 2nd, 3rd places, presented about halfway through event) and costumes (1st, 2nd, 3rd places).
To assist in prevention of Covid spread, Spur Hardware will provide a table for hand sanitizer, and disposable masks.
There is no need to sign up vehicle in advance, but if de-sired, RSVP to Michelle Bilbrey or Kristy Price on Facebook to commit to displaying a vehicle. Paducah, Oct. 31
The Paducah Chamber of Commerce will be having Trunk or Treat on the south and east sides of the square Sat., Oct 31.
They will also be having a drawing at that time, as listed on the Chamber Facebook page.
Masks and gloves will be retired to pass out candy.
Spur, Oct. 31
The Spur Area Chamber of Commerce will once again host Trunk or Treat Sat., Oct. 31, from 4 to 6 p.m. The block of W. 2nd St. between the First Baptist Church and Lawrence Brothers IGA grocery store will be blocked off for cars and trucks to set up beginning at 3 p.m.
FALL FESTIVALS

Guthrie, Oct. 31
Guthrie CSD will host its Fall Festival Sat., Oct. 31. For details, call (806) 596-4466.
Rotan, Oct. 31
The Rotan Fall Festival will be Sat., Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at 102 N. McKinley (in front of the schools). There will be food, games, prizes and more.

Roby, Oct. 31
The Roby Fall Festival will be at the HUB Sat., Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The HUB is a Christian youth center with a covered basketball court, movie room, gaming stations, pool tables, ping pong, foosball and more, located at 204 S. Concho, in Roby.
Everyone is encouraged to wear their Halloween costume.
PUMPKIN PATCHES
Floydada, through Oct. 31
Assiter Punkin Ranch, 3451 Ralls Hwy. South, is open through October 31 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and Sunday 1–6 p.m..
On the weekends they offer petting zoo, cotton candy, popcorn and pumpkin train rides.
They also sell pumpkins, gourds and fall gift items.
Roby, through Oct. 31
The First Baptist Church of Roby, 107 N. College Ave., will have their pumpkin patch open through October 31. They are open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 5 to 8 p.m.
They also have special events, such as movies pumpkin painting. Call the church at (325) 776-2159 to see what special events they have for the upcoming week.
