In order to help the Spur Police Department respond to location calls more easily, residents and businesses are asked to make sure that your street address information is readily visible, even at night. Your house or business number should be posted in characters at least 3 inches tall, preferably with a reflective material or on a contrasting background, on the building front, on the mailbox, or on the street curb.
Here are some other suggestions for helping police officers quickly locate the right properly:
• At street corners in your neighborhood, trim back tree branches and keep weeds mowed so that intersections are readily identifiable
• Trim back shrubs or trees away from front windows and doors for your security
• Get to know your neighbors, and cooperate in making property information visible • Let us know if you are unable to install address numbers, and we’ll find help
