Politicians and others will shortly flood the airwaves with messages to go vote.
“I don't know enough.” “They don't care.” “What difference does it make?” “It doesn't affect me.” All those things may have some truth, but should voting or life in general, just be about how it impacts you?
Over fifty people, including five children, died in a tractor-trailer near San Antonio this past June. Anyone should admit they are not living up to the values of the verse above if they think “illegals” deserve such a fate. These people were just looking for a better life. Often fleeing cartel violence or natural disasters or extreme poverty.
“Love your neighbor” or “Do unto others” is often thrown out the window by our supposed Christian leaders. If you don't think the FED Govt has enough money to help the situation, look into a great book called “The Deficit Myth.” If you don't think there’s enough food, look in any dumpster behind a grocery store or restaurant. If you don't think there’s enough housing, there are 17 million vacant homes in America.
This isn't liberal dogooderism, this is basic human decency and having the courage to vote for different people that uphold those values.

Nathan Lewis qualified fortheupcomingNovember 8th, 2022, General Election as an Independent candidate by successfully amassing the necessary petition signatures and filing them with the Texas Secretary of State’s office before the June 23rd deadline. Barring a lastminute write-in candidacy, and with no Democrat, Libertarian, Green or other candidates filing this year, Lewis will be the only challenger to incumbent Congressman Jodey Arrington.
Lewis, 46, grew up on a cattle ranch in Southwest Nebraska and was part of a graduating class of only 12. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for six years studying Electrical Engineering, among other subjects, and interned ninemonths at Cooper Nuclear Station near Brownville, NE. After coming to Lubbock in 2006, Lewis worked at the South Plains Food Bank Garden and Apple Orchard for 11 years, while implementing his own small scale solar setup and trialing local growing methods and other sustainable practices. Since leaving the Food Bank, Lewis has focused most of his attention on politics.
Lewis believes there are answers to get beyond the us vs them, Democrat vs Republican framing of every political debate. More and more people call themselves Independent rather than Democrat or Republican. The latest Gallup poll shows 43% of Americans consider themselves Independent compared to 27% for the two major parties. Both George Washington and John Adams warned about the two-party system. Adams stated, “a division of the republic into two great parties … is to be dreaded as the great political evil.”
