The Silverton Owls and the Patton Springs Rangers met on the Rangers’ turf last Thursday night, Oct. 31, for what would be a big game.
With both teams coming off a loss from their first week one of district play, these boys were ready to duke it out.
With no delay, the Owls showed that they came to fight, scoring on the second play of the game. But the Rangers showed up as well with their up-and-coming sophomore #21 Ralph Garza leading them in scoring for the night.
At the end of the first quarter, both teams had showed that they were in it to win it with a close game of 19-13, Owls.
As the game progressed, the Rangers started to lose their grip as one of their seven players would fall with a broken ankle, and the Owls would slowly expand the gap.
Despite the Rangers’ effort, the Owls departed Afton with their first district victory, leaving the Rangers at 0-2 on the season. With just one week left of district play, we’ll see what these teams do moving forward.
The final score was 59-32, Owls.
