Maternity Home, founded in Jayton (Kent County) in 2020, is expanding its ministry to serve more mothers in need.
For the past two and a half years, the Sparrow’s Nest has been serving mothers in crisis by providing them with a safe home and opportunities to change their circumstances. They will now be offering services to women in the surrounding counties that have housing but could benefit from other resources.
Sparrow’s Nest director Sky Gregory said, “Our ministry has been abundantly blessed! My hope is that by expanding to serve nonresidents, we will be able to help more women and give back to the community that has been good to us.”
Women located Kent County as well as in neighboring counties including Stonewall, Fisher, Scurry, Garza, Crosby, King, Knox, Haskell and Jones are able to apply for Non-Resident Help. The new progrm will offer:
• clothing for mothers and children in sizes Newborn to 5T
• baby items such as cribs and high chairs
• online parenting and pregnancy classes, to earn diapers and wipes
• GED classes
• job and resume help Women interested in these services may apply on the home’s website at sparrowsnestmh. org under the “Need help?” tab.
