On November 15, four Congressional debaters from Jayton competed at the regional competition in Lubbock.
Out of 16 1A competitors, Jayton took 4 of the top 5 places. Senior Alana Croft won the competition that day, earning her a spot in the state rounds, in Austin in January. Along with Croft, senior Joel Williams placed third, earning a place in the state competition as well. Sophomore Jarret Herzog placed 4t, and Junior Jayme Braly placed 5th, making them both state alternates.
State Congressional Debate will be held at the University of Texas in Austin, January 10–12, 2022.
