Jayton Homecoming planned for Oct. 1-2

Plans for the biennial Jayton Homecoming are coming together for October 1 and 2, 2021.

Activities get under way with a bonfire Thursday evening. The junior class is preparing the homecoming bonfire on the west side of the school, where they are already collecting cardboard boxes.

There will be a pep rally Friday at 3 p.m., and attendees can begin voting for Coming Home Queen and King then. The homecoming game will be Friday, Oct. 1 at 7:30 p.m. with the Jaybirds hosting the Roby Lions.

A deejay will perform for the Friday night dance, and there will be no charge. The Friday night dance starts after the game at the fire station.

Saturday’s activities include the parade at 10 a.m., lunch, catered by Abuelo’s at a cost of $15 per person; a silent auction; a business meeting around 2 p.m.’ and crowning of Coming Home King and Queen.

Slade Coulter will be the featured musician for the dance Saturday night.
