Jayton: At press time, Jayton and Paducah were playing for the district title Tuesday night.
The undefeated Jayton Jaybirds (7-0) traveled to Paducah to take on last year's district champ and formidable foe, the Paducah Dragons (6-1). Even though Jayton had the historic run all the way to the state championship game last year, Paducah actually won the district. This year, for Jayton to win the district outright, the Jaybirds had to prevail over the Dragons at home.
Even if Paducah lost, they would still be in second place and in the hunt for the playoffs.
Spur, Patton Springs: Even though Spur fell Friday night to Paducah 47-42, they are still in the playoff hunt and played Patton Springs Tuesday night. If they beat the Rangers, they will be 4-4 and have sole possession of third place.
