The Rangers traveled to Kress last Thursday evening to meet up with the Kangaroos on their own turf for what would be the season’s last district game. With the Rangers coming up short against the Matadors and the Owls, they were looking to end their season with a victory. The Kangaroos, however, were fighting to defend their homecoming. With these factors in play, both teams were ready to battle.
The Rangers started the game with the ball, as their favored running back Ralph Garza caught fire as he ran in a 37-yard TD on the opening play of the game.
Kress’s first possession also made a statement, as they would score on their first drive of the game as well.
The rapid fire would continue as both teams stood toe to toe all the way to the half, with the Rangers trailing by only six points.
Coming out after the half, the Kangaroos would find another gear and start to pull away from the Rangers, who made several crucial mistakes on two turnovers to give the Kangaroos a jump.
Both teams would battle it out to the end, but the Kangaroos would have a homecoming victory, sending the Rangers home with their third loss in district play.
The final score was 64-38, Kangaroos.
