The 2021 Kent County Livestock Show at this point in time will proceed “as close to normal as possible” according to the show board, said Kent County extension agent Brandon Cave. The show is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Jan. 15 and 16, 2021, at the Kent County Show Barn in Clairemont.
“The KCLS board is working with county officials to set health and safety recommendations,” Cave said. “Masks will be recommended at the show.”
Aaccording to Texas A&M AgriLife it’s up to each individual show to set its own specific guidelines. The Texas Spur will post and publish such protocols as they become available.
There are 45 students entered in this year’s show, featuring approximately 82 animals: eight heifers, two Steers, 23 hogs, 23 goats, 22 sheep and 60 rabbits.
Judges for the 2021 evnt are Jack County extension agent Charlie Martin and Chad Donnell, a rabbit breeder from Seymour, Texas.
Supporters may make donations payable to the Kent County Livestock Show and mail it to P. O. Box 65, Jayton, TX 79528, or bring it to the press box the day of the sale.
