According to the minutes of the Kent County Commissioners Court for April 11, 2022, in addition to presentation of regular reports, Phil Brewer of Yellow House Machinery met with the court to discuss possible purchase and trade-in of a new motor grader, with no action taken. Also, the court heard from representatives of the Kent County Nursing Home, who reported a census of 40 residents. The court convened into executive session from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m., with no action taken. Afterward, claims against the county were approved for payment, and requests for use of road machinery were approved.
Judge Jim C. White reported the following reinvestments of permanent school funds:
—A certificate of deposit was purchased at Plains Capital Bank in the amount of $500,000 at a rate of 0.15%, to mature April 4, 2023;
—A certificate of deposit was purchased at Plains Capital Bank in the amount of $800,000 at a rate of 0.15%, to mature April 5, 2023;
—A certificate of deposit was purchased at Plains Capital Bank in the amount of $1,000,000 at a rate of 0.25%, to mature April 7, 2024;
—A certificate of deposit was purchased at Plains Capital Bank in the amount of $1,000,000 at a rate of 0.25%, to mature April 7, 2024;
—A certificate of deposit was purchased at Bank of Texas (Kent County State Bank) in the amount of $285,000 at a rate of 0.35%, to mature April 8, 2023.
Present in addition to Judge White were commissioners Roy Chisum, Robert Graham, Daryl Ham and Don Long, and county clerk Craig Harrison.
The court convened a special meeting on April 18 to meet in closed session with Jordan Moeller, administrator of the Kent County Nursing Home, and others, “for clarity of requirements and responsibility for the resident ledger cards and reports used for billing.” No action was reported.
In its regular meeting of April 25, Brad Chisum of Kent County Emergency Management Service reported current activity, including passing certifications, and aid provided to Aspermont and Spur EMT services.
The court approved payment for goods and services.
Linda Daniels of the Kent County Nursing Home reported a patient census of 42 residents.
The court met in executive session from 10:05 to 11:50 a.m. and adjourned without further report or action.
