A Meet the Candidates event sponsored by the Kent County Lions Club is scheduled for Sunday evening, April 18, at 5 p.m. in the Kent County Community Center in Jayton, according to club leadership this week.
Candidates for contested JGISD school board trustee places will be the main focus, said Lions president Daryl Ham, but all current office holders are invited to take part.
A brisket sandwiche dinner will be served, courtesy of the organization, while candidates will be on hand to meet the community and share with everyone before early voting begins Monday in local elections.
Questions may be addressed to event organizer Jake Edwards, (940) 550-4271.
