The #11-in-the-state Jayton Lady Jays varsity girls basketball team defeated the Guthrie Lady Jaguars 57-11 Thursday in district 5-1A play, bringing their record to 19–6 and 3–0 in district.
The win sets up the Lady Jays for a Tuesday night tussle in Jayton with the #22 Spur Spurettes varsity basketball team, who are 20–6 for the season and 3–0 in district.
In the victory over Guthrie three Lady Jays were in double digits: Gibby Gibson with 16, Hannah Blankenship with 14 and Daylee Chisum with 12.
