Miss Dee Dee welcomes preschoolers for story & activity time March 23; Sprayberry to lead craft night Apr. 5

Miss Dee Dee will be here for story and activity time on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 from 2:00 until 3:00 in the afternoon with a story and activity for Easter. Preschool-aged children will enjoy books, songs, activities and more while building early literary skills. We hope to have a permanent day and time in the near future for story and activity time.

On Monday April 5, 2021 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm join me in welcoming a special guest instructor for Craft Night. Charlotte Sprayberry will be here to share her skills in diamond painting, a technique that uses an applicator to apply sparkling rhinestones on an adhesive color-coded canvas painting. We will be making diamond-painted keychains. We will have the kits at the library. Please bring $2.00 to help defray the cost of the materials. If you plan on coming with a large group, please let me know so I can have plenty of kits available on Craft Night. It should be a fun night for all. We are still requiring masks and social distancing at the library.

Exciting news for fans of James Patterson. We received two new novels from the bestselling author this past week. “The Midwife Murders” by Patterson and Richard DiLallo is a psychological thriller. After two kidnappings and a vicious stabbing happen at a New York hospital, senior midwife Lucy Ryuan teams up with a skeptical NYPD detective to solve the case.

Patterson teams up with Tucker Axum III with “Cajun Justice.” The Bayou is a unique place to live, and it provides a grit and passion to any who hail from it, including Cain Lemaire, an ex–Secret Service agent from New Orleans. Cain had the dream job he had always wanted, protecting the President, until a single night resulted in a scandal that lost him his post. Needing a new direction for his life and with help from his sister who works in Japan, Cain takes a job in Tokyo as head of security detail for a very successful and important CEO. What he thought was a simple security post unravels a tangled web of corruption, greed and extortion, but now Cain is on his own and without the wealth of resources he had with the Secret Service. Years of training and international missions kick in as he races to find justice that only way a born and raised Cajun can do.

“Thick as Thieves,” Sandra Brown’s latest suspense novel, is also available at the library. The publisher’s summary on this book: “Twenty years ago in the dead of night, four seemingly random individuals pulled the ultimate heist and almost walked away
