LIBRARY NOTES

New books, new readers at the Spur library

We had so much fun the last time we had a Minute to Win It game night that we are going to do it again. Join us at the library on Monday, May 23, at 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. Grand prize is a brand new library card! The holder of this card will have free access to bestselling books, audiobooks, e-books and much more. You will be the envy of your friends who pay good money for books and book services; money that could be spent on other luxuries such as food, rent, or gasoline. Just imagine a lifetime supply of free reading. Even last place can win this fantastic prize, but first place will be the only ones with bragging rights.

The Friends of the Library will be having their book sale for the next couple of weeks in the lobby of the library. For a donation to the Friends of the Library you can stock up on books, DVDs, and audiobooks. If you are a fan of science fiction we recently received a large donation of both paperback and hardback sci-fi books. There are many hardback books by bestselling authors, such as John Grisham, James Patterson, Janet Evanovitch, Danielle Steel and more. We have a large collection of paperback books that are free. Bring your own bag and fill it with as many paperback books as you want for free.

If you are a Friend of the Library remember to pay your dues. It’s only $5 per year and it all goes toward the expenses of the library.

New in large print this week at the library is the newest thrilling Beaumont suspense novel from New York Times bestselling author J. A. Jance. Beaumont is approached by a visitor from the past and finds himself drawn into a missing person’s case where danger is lurking and family secrets are exposed.

For fans of Christian romance we have Tracie Peterson’s “Along the Rio Grande” in large print. For fans of western fiction we have two William W. and J.A. Johnstone novels in large print. They are “Never Seen Deader” and “Blood in the Dust.”

Check it all out at the library.
