Thank you to whoever left the donation of children’s books at the library. We have been fortunate to have received some great donations of children’s books this summer. Our home schooling families will especially benefit from this latest donation. We have been able to add quite a few titles to our children’s section.
Parents have always had a challenge with getting children to read. This generation of parents have new challenges such as smartphones, tablets and laptops loaded with videos and games. They are visually stimulating, making reading a book seem boring in comparison. Maybe the writing team of William Péna and son Matthew Péna using the pen name Zach Zombie have come up with a solution. Through their love for Minecraft and funny stories, they brought the zany adventures of a preteen Minecraft Zombie to life, in order to bring a little joy and laughter to the crazy and emotionally angst filled life of today's preteen. William comes up with the ideas for each Zack Zombie book, while Matthew decides if they are any good. We have added the first four of the series, ‘Diary of a Minecraft Zombie” to our children’s section of the library. The titles of the first four are, “A Scare of a Dare,” “Bullies and Buddies,” “When Nature Calls,” and “Zombie Swap.”
We have added some new titles to our large print section, including the #1 New York Times Bestseller and an Amazon Best Book of 2020 “The Evening and the Morning” by Ken Follett. Thirty years ago, Ken Follett published his most popular novel, “The Pillars of the Earth.” Now, Follett’s masterful new prequel “The Evening and the Morning” takes us on an epic journey into a historical past rich with ambition and rivalry, death and birth, love and hate that will end where “The Pillars of the Earth” begins.
#1 New York Times bestselling author Lisa Gardner unites three of her most beloved characters, Detective D. D. Warren, Flora Dane, and Kimberly Quincy, in a twisty new thriller, as they investigate a mysterious murder from the past, which points to a dangerous and chilling present-day crime in “When You See Me.”
#1 New York Times bestselling thriller writer Kathy Reichs returns with “Cold Cold Bones,” her twenty-first novel of suspense featuring forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan who, after receiving a box containing a human eyeball, uncovers a series of gruesome killings eerily reenacting the most shocking of her prior cases.
Check it all out at the library.
