a lot like Christmas around the community. The library is decorated for Christmas. We may have gone a little overboard—at last count I believe we had six trees decorated all over the library! It looks very nice. The lights around town at night are just beautiful.
I attended the photography workshop with Rick and C.J. Boales recently, and I have been implementing some of the new ideas I learned. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a photography club that could meet every so often and share ideas and helpful hints to other locals who love to take photos. You wouldn’t even have to have a digital camera. Some are using their smartphones to take some pretty awesome pictures. The more up-todate ones have settings you used to be able to find only in the more expensive cameras. If you are interested, please let me know.
We have been keeping pretty busy adding new books and the donated books we’ve recently received. Quite a few of the donated books are suspense and legal thrillers by various authors. One such novel is Phillip Margolin’s “The Associate,” in which a poster boy for the American Dream, former blue-collar kid turned high-powered lawyer Daniel Ames, is on easy street as an associate at Reed, Briggs, Portland’s most prestigious law firm. That is, until one man and one case change everything.
Bestselling author William Bernhardt is an unsurpassed master at blending psychological suspense with gripping, surprisefilled legal action. Now, Bernhardt and his crusading attorney Ben Kincaid return in a thrilling story of love, hate, and the power of a courtroom with “Hate Crime.”
Changing gears from the courtroom to the fairways, Bernhardt brings us “Final Round.” The Masters is played on the sweeping fairways of Georgia’s exclusive Augusta National Golf Club, drawing an annual pilgrimage of Learjetting superstars, media, and throngs of fans. But this year, the tournament has attracted something else. A killer is coming to play a deadly game of his own.
New to our shelves in large print, we have “The Wishing Quilt.” Three wishes, for love, second chances, and brand-new beginnings come true, Texas-style, in this uplifting anthology from the talented trio of acclaimed authors Jodi Thomas, Lori Wilde, and Patience Griffin.
Also in large print, Detective Isaac Bell battles foreign spies, German Uboats, and an old nemesis to capture a secret technology that could alter the outcome of World War I in the latest adventure in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Clive Cussler, “The Sea Wolves.”
Check it all out at the library.
