LIBRARY NOTES

Story time returns to

Spur library Tuesday

We will be having story time for preschoolers on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. We would love to have volunteers to come and read to the children. If you are interested in reading a story, or if you are a storyteller and would like to tell a story to the children, please come by the library or call me at (806) 271-3714. Right now is the perfect time to bring the joy of reading into their lives.

Valentine’s Day is coming up soon, and the Friends of the Library are selling Valentine suckers for a suggested donation of $1.25 each. We have cherry, cake batter and watermelon flavors available at the library. We also have some ½-pound bags of hard candies in various flavors available for a suggested donation of $7 each. The candy was generously donated by local confectioner MandyHenryofRock House Candy.

You won’t want to miss our first photography club meeting Saturday, February 11, at 9:30 am here at the library. We will be discussing a name for the club, a date and time for our meetings, and all of the things we would like to get out of the club. All photo bugs, no matter your skill level, are welcome to come and share your thoughts with the rest of us. Please feel free to contact Rick Boales if you have any questions or concerns. His cell number is (214) 9859006 (text preferred but call if needed) and his email is rick.boales@gmail.com. You can also find Rick on Facebook and message him using Facebook messenger.

New to the library in large print we have bestselling author Amy Clipston’s “Something Old, Something New.” This sweet contemporary romance is full of home town charm and second chances. Also in large print we have New York Times bestseller M.C. Beaton’s cranky, crafty Agatha Raisin, the star of her own hit TV series. She is back on the case again in “Devil’s Delight.” If technothrillers are more your taste we have “Code 6” by Harper Lee Prize winner and New York Times bestselling author James Grippando.

We received more audiobooks this past week from a generous donor. There were several by the very popular bestselling author Janet Evanovich, including several from the Stephanie Plum number series. Here are a few more titles from the last donation of audiobooks we received: “Wild Fire” by Nelson DeMille, “The Twelfth Card” by Jeffrey Deaver, “The Bootlegger” by Clive Cussler, “Swan Peak” by James Lee Burke, “Fireproof” by Alex Kava, “Gotcha” by Fern Michaels, “Live Wire” by Harlen Coben, “The Mephisto Club” by Tess Garritsen and “10th Anniversary” by James Patterson.

Check it all out at the library.
