DONNICE CARRUTH | SPECIAL TO THE TEXAS SPUR
The Friends of the Library are having their book sale in the lobby of the library.
Due to some very generous donations, we are running out of room to put the books we have for sale. Hardcover books are 50 cents, Audio books on CD are $1.00, DVDs are 25 cents —and you can fill a bag with paperbacks for free!
We have some great titles by some great authors, so hurry down to the library and get some.
We still have plenty of room for new books, and thanks to the Tocker Foundation we have added more to our shelves. From patron favorite inspirational author Tracie Peterson, we have the first in her Pictures of the Heart series, “Remember Me.” Haunted by heartbreak and betrayal, Addie Bryant escapes her terrible circumstances with the hope she can forever hide her past and with the belief she will never have the future she's always dreamed of. When she's reunited with her lost love, Addie must decide whether to run or to face her wounds to embrace her life, her future, and her hope in God.
Also from Tracie Peterson we have four short contemporary romances in “Love Through the Seasons.” A single mother is braced for spring tornadoes and “Stormy Weather” when she encounters her son’s scout troop leader. A student finds her King of Hearts while participating in a summer Renaissance festival, but she may lack queenly confidence. Autumn isn’t just about the changing of the trees for a widow living with her mother and aunts on the family farm, it’s all about “Falling for Love.” A wife faces “Silent Nights” during winter as her marriage begins to crumble at Christmastime.
We “Downriver South,” a civil war novel by author Greg Hunt. The bloody Civil War has ended at last, and Marshal Ridge Parkman is looking forward to visiting his family at last in exhausted, war-torn western Missouri. But no sooner has he settled in to relax and catch up on things, than whimsical fate drops a mission in front of him that he can hardly ignore.
In mystery and suspense we have bestselling author Laura Lippman’s “Prom Mom.” Amber Glass has spent her entire adult life putting as much distance as possible between her and her hometown of Baltimore, where she fears she will forever be known as “Prom Mom”—the girl who allegedly killed her baby on the night of the prom after her date, Joe Simpson, abandoned her to pursue the girl he really liked.
Check it all out at the library.
