The first event for the library in 2024 is this Saturday, January 6th beginning at 4:00 p.m. Join us for what promises to be an entertaining evening with Will Rogers Medallion award winning author Will Brandon, aka Barbara Brannon, editor and co-publisher of our hometown newspaper, the Texas Spur. There will be reading, refreshments, quizzes, and prizes. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there.
We have added a couple of television series to our DVD collection. We now have season one and two of “Grey’s Anatomy” and season one of “Jag.”
Two terms that everyone probably reads or hears about daily that would have been foreign just a few years ago are ‘keto’ and ‘air fryer.’ Put the two terms together and you will have part of the title of our newest cookbook available here at the library, “Keto Air Fryer: 200+ Delicious Low Carb Recipes to Heal Your Body and Help You Lose Weight.” Almost any deepfried or oven-baked dish can be made in an air fryer. Preparing your favorite keto dishes in record time with little clean-up has never been easier. Author Maria Emmerich shows you how to do it all seamlessly, step by step. She gives you her best tips and tricks for success on the keto diet and offers up a wide variety of delicious dishes, from air fryer classics like onion rings and chicken wings to unexpected additions like cookies and even omelets.
New large print books added thanks to the grant received from the Tocker Foundation include the electrifying thriller, “Burner” by Mark Greaney. Fans of Tom Clancy will like this author as he has written or co-written seven Tom Clancy novels. In the spellbinding new masterpiece by #1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva, Gabriel Allon undertakes a high-stakes search for the greatest art forger who ever lived in “Portrait of an Unknown Woman.”
If romance is more to your liking we have the #1 New York Times bestselling novel “Dreamland” A twist you won’t see coming— a love story you’ll never forget.
From the acclaimed author of “The Notebook,” Nicholas Sparks, comes a powerful novel about risking everything for a dream, and whether it’s possible to leave the past behind. From New York Times bestselling author Jojo Moyes we have a story of mix-ups, messups and making the most of second chances in her new novel “Someone Else’s Shoes.”
Check it all out at the library.
