Last weekend’s Lubbock Book Festival turned out steady crowds on two pleasant fall days for events indoors and out at the Lubbock Mahon Public Library.
The free festival brought together more than 40 authors with readers, writers, illustrators, storytellers, musicians, cosplayers and crafters for enjoyment and inspiration. The event, sponsored by Literacy Lubbock, was designed to celebrate literacy, creativity, and stories. A packed schedule of author panels, workshops, book exhibits and sales, and entertainment also served as a fundraiser for Literacy Lubbock’s educational program.
Planning for a 2022 festival is already in the works, said library director Stacy McKenzie.
