Thursday, July 28, at 11:00 a.m., Ryan Blake will be at the library to discuss the differences between Medicare and Medicare Advantage.
If you are nearing the age of 65 and have been bombarded with mail and email on the subject, this presentation should be helpful in making the right choice for you. I know it was for me.
We are still accepting donations of school supplies or cash for school supplies. The forms are ready for parents or guardians to fill out for their student or students. The Friends of the Library’s annual school supply program is for any student who attends a school in Dickens County; this includes Spur ISD and Patton Springs ISD, or for any student homeschooled in Dickens County.
We have new large print books here at the library.
We have “Country Strong” and “Country Proud” by Linda Lael Miller. These two western romances are the first two of the Pony Creek Series. In inspirational historical romance we have “Unfailing Love” by Janette Oke and Laurel Oke Logan, “Beyond the Desert Sands” by Tracie Peterson, and “Written in the Wind” by Elizabeth Camden.
In contemporary inspirational fiction we have “Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton” by Susannah B. Lewis, “Turn to Me” by Becky Wade, “The Stepsisters” by Susan Mallory, and “Summer’s Promise” by Barbara Cameron.
For those who want something that thrills we have “Good Girls Lie” J. T. Ellison’s pulsepounding new psychological thriller that examines the tenuous bonds of friendship, the power of lies and the desperate lengths people will go to in order to protect their secrets.
Also by Ellison we have “Her Dark Lies.” This is what New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter had to say about the novel: “I loved ‘Her Dark Lies.’ A great modern gothic. Ellison outdid herself— what an ending!”
Check it all out at the library.
Donnice Carruth is director of the Dickens County-Spur Library, in Spur.
