New books, new readers at the Spur library

We didn’t have craft night this month. There was a great turnout and everyone seemed to have a great time at the diamond painting craft with Charlotte Sprayberry. There has been talk of doing it again. I would love to hear from anyone who would be interested in another diamond painting craft night. We have to plan ahead because the kits have to be ordered. If anyone has a craft they would like to share with the community, please contact me at the library to discuss the details.

"Books for Dummies" transforms the hard to understand into easy-to-use to enable learners at every level to fuel their pursuit of professional and personal enhancement.’ This description of their books from www.dummies.com needs a ‘for Dummies’ book to explain what they said. It could be called, “Explanation of the Definition of for Dummies books for Dummies.” Basically the for Dummies books uses simplified explanations and photos to help the reader better understand the subject. A few weeks ago I mentioned we received “IPhone for Seniors for Dummies.” This week we received two more for Dummies books. “Facebook for Dummies” is written in a chatty, straightforward style, your friendly hosts, Carolyn Abram and Amy Karasavas, both former Facebook employees, help you get settled in with the basics, like setting up your profile and adding content, as well as protecting your privacy when you want to decide who can and can't see your posts. They then show you how to get involved as you add new friends, toggle your newsfeed, shape your timeline story, join groups, and more. They even let you in on ways to go pro and use Face book for work, such as building a promo page and showing off your business to the world. The other is “Android Phone for Dummies” by Dan Gookin to help you learn the ends and outs of your Android phone.
