Charlotte Sprayberry and I have been getting things ready for the first Game Night at the Library. It will have happened by the time this issue of the newspaper comes out. If everyone has as much fun participating as Charlotte and I have getting ready for it, then it will be a huge success.
Who knows where this might lead? We could have a Pictionary game night or a Wahoo game night.
Maybe some of the younger generation might want to learn how to play 42. There are chess enthusiasts in Spur. How about a chess tournament?
It has been awhile since we have had a book folding class. I am going to try for January 31 to have our next craft night. Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and a heart is pretty much all I can do in book folding, so sharpen your pencils and get out your bone folders and we will fold some pages of a book into a heart.
A memorial donation was given to the Friends of the Library in the name of Linda Henderson. It has been a year since she has passed. Linda was an avid reader, and her husband donated her vast collection books to the library as well. We had quite a few of the titles already. Here are some titles that we didn’t have and were able to add to the library’s shelves:
· From New York Times best-selling author John Lescroart we added “Hard Evidence,” “The Vig,” and “Dead Irish”
· “Our Little Lies” by Sue Watson
· “The Girl Who Lived” by Christopher Greyson
· “The Friend” by Teresa Driscoll
· From Mariah Stewart we have the “Mercy” series, “Mercy Street,” “Cry Mercy,” and “Acts of Mercy”
· Two legal thrillers by Robert Bailey, “The Final Reckoning” and “Between Black and White”
· From Wall Street Journal best-selling author Scott Pratt, “Blood Money” and “Judgement Cometh”
· We also have “In My Skin: My Life on and Off the Basketball Court,” the autobiography of Britney Griner, who is hailed by ESPN and the world’s most famous female basketball player.
Check it all out at the library.
