Just north of the post office in downtown Spur, catercorner across the street from Star Feed and Seed a couple of new businesses are opening—BG’s Designs and J.J.’s Custom Woodworks.
The husband and wife team of Becky and J.J. Jones from White River Lake have been working for weeks to customize the interiors of the office building at 226 W. Harris Street and are now ready to serve customers.
Becky will offer anything that can be sewn in BG’s Designs. “From clothing to alterations to home goods, such as curtains, tablecloths and quilts, we can do it all from here,” she said. Among the vast array of items she has on display at the shop, you’ll find aprons, purses, hand towels, bowl koozies and plastic bag holders, among many other offerings.
One rack near the door showcased custom clothing that she had created for children, but the seamstress can also make custom clothing for adults as well.
BG’s Designs has a showroom, a welcoming foyer, and a sewing room with multiple sewing machines, fitting area, and cloth room with a variety of fabrics in a kaleidoscope of colors.
On the J.J.s Custom Woodworks side of the building, J.J. makes cabinets, gun racks, china cabinets, bookcases, bunk beds and more. If it can be made out of wood, he can make it. “We also offer complete remodels for homes, too,” he said.
BG’s Designs’ hours will be Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or Becky can be reached by phone at (806) 777-1532. She also plans to be open at Third Saturday Trade Days at her downtown location.
