Roaring Springs Coffee Depot opened last Fridaywith a special Christmas Open House from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 2.
The new bistro is owned and operated by the mother-daughter team of Marquita Blackwell and Sara Mancari, who have been busy decorating the historic Roaring Springs train depot for the holidays and creating delectable treats to eat and drink. The shop will feature a variety of edibles and drinkables for purchase.
“Our menu is evolving,” said Blackwell. “We’ll open up with espressos, lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, drip coffee and hot and iced teas.
They’ll also have pastries, cinnamon rolls and muffins—“We’ll offer something different every day. We plan to incorporate savory items as we get up and going,” she said.
Their winter hours will be 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Blackwell said that in time, RSCD will have bakery items to go for sale, and in warmer times, they’ll offer cold brews and iced coffees.
