58th Annual Garza Co. Junior Livestock Show slated for Jan. 14-15
POST—Thirty-nine Garza County FFA and 4H members will converge on Syd Conner Memorial Livestock Complex to show off their livestock, win awards and sell their livestock Jan. 14-15, 2022.
Events get under way Friday at 3 p.m. with the pig weigh-in, then followed by the steer, lamb and goat weigh-ins at 5 p.m.
Saturday starts at 9 a.m. with the Swine Show goes all the week to 6 p.m. with a Buyer Appreciation meal at 6 p.m.

Windy Winter disc golf tournament set for Jan. 16
SNYDER—The Snyder Chamber of Commerce is hosting a disc golf tournament benefiting the West Texas Child Advocacy Center on January 16 in Towle Memorial Park.
Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the pavilion. There is a $25 entry fee per person. The tournament will begin at 1:30 p.m. Amateurs’ and professionals are welcome. The tournament will be played by standard PDGA rules.
First place will receive $200, second place claims $100 and third place gets $50.

Self-defense course now on Saturdays in Crosbyton
CROSBYTON—Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as self-defense will be taught by Ana Lowery every Saturday at the Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum and Community Center from 3 to 5 p.m.
No experience is necessary to participate, and those interested should wear comfortable clothing and bring a bottle of water.
Where many self-defense programs teach techniques for specific situations, this program will first convey an overall conceptual understanding of Jiu-Jitsu that will serve participants in all situations. Attendees will develop an innate understanding of self-defense that can be executed even while tired or panicked, and will have fun practicing, too.
