The Palace Theater will show its first movie of the season, “Godzilla vs. Kong,” during a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Concessions will open at 1:30 p.m. This movie offers a special discounted admission for high school and junior high students of only $2. Adult admission is $5.
The movie is rated PG and is considered too intense for small children due to the creature destruction.
The Palace has been renovated from the water damage of the winter storm, and painting of the walls and floors and removal and replacement of the seating delayed the season opening date until this Sunday.
The Roger Ebert movie review website had this to say about the film: “Godzilla vs. Kong” is a crowd-pleasing, smash-’em-up monster flick and a straight-up action picture par excellence.”
The movie is sponsored by Madcap Media, a video production company based in Spur.
