In the regular meeting of the Patton Springs Independent School District board on May 15, Superintendent Bryan White presented current enrollment and attendance, end-ofyear activities, and awards.
He also discussed 2023 current legislation and summer training opportunities.
Business manager Becky Hodges presented the May 6, 2023 bond election results: total votes, 152; Proposition A: For 73, Against 79; Proposition B: For 76, Against 76. Clayt Bridge made the motion that the board of trustees adopt the order canvassing returns and declaring results of bond election, as presented.” Ernest Ramirez seconded; the motion passed.
David Keith made the motion to approve the 2023–24 TEKS certification presented by Principal Sandra Ramirez. Clayt Bridge made the second; the motion passed.
David Keith made the motion to approve the staff development, May 15, 2023, on the 2022–23 school calendar. Ernest Ramirez made the second; the motion passed.
Following a closed session, Ernest Ramirez made the motion to hire R. Shaundale Schaffner as teacher on probationary contract, subject to assignment, and to hire Amethyst Pemberton. Clayt Bridge made the second; the motion passed.
Superintendent White presented resignations for teachers Lindsey Criswell and Stephanie Stewart Kidd.
Attending the meeting were board members Gary Bridge, Clayt Bridge, David Keith and Ernest Ramirez. Also attending were Superintendent Bryan White, Principal Sandra Ramirez and Business Manager Becky Hodges
