Patton Springs succumbs to Wildorado 46-0 Thursday

The Patton Springs Rangers traveled to Wildorado Thursday night to face off against the Wildorado Mustangs on their home turf.

Wildorado is in the Texas Panhandle, halfway between Amarillo and Vega, 168 miles from Afton—a two-and-a-half hour school bus ride.

The game kicked off at 7 p.m. and the Mustangs, who were 8–3 last year, came ready to defend their territory, scoring back-to-back multiple times in the first half.

The Rangers would fight back, but it wouldn't quite be enough.

Wildorado’s defense is known to be formidable. The last time the Mustangs were scored on was November 6, 2020, when Groom scored 8 in a 54–8 loss to Wildorado.

The Rangers would end up coming up short as the Mustangs would close it out in the 3rd quarter, forty-fiving the Rangers with a score of 46–0.
