Spring has sprung, and with it deejays and decorations, along with colorful gowns and dress outfits in a variety of styles for evenings of enjoyment. Yes, it’s high school prom time.
While Floydada (“Masquerade Ball,” March 26 at the Plainview Country Club) and Guthrie already held their big dance nights, several are taking place this week and next.
Spur High School’s “Enchanted Garden” is scheduled for April 9 at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Jayton will hold its “Night on the Street of Rio” event the same evening at 6 in the school gym foyer.
Motley County’s prom will take place April 15 at 6 p.m. at Phil Kerr’s ranch in Afton.
Next up is Silverton, with its “Starry Nights” event April 23 at 7 p.m. in the brand-new Silverton Downtown Center, followed by Lockney, with its “Casino Night” April 30 at the Unity Center) in Muncy.
On May 7 are Paducah’s prom (details to be announced) and Valley’s “Great Gatsby” evening at the Bob Wills Museum.
