The Rangers faced off against the Cotton Center Elks this past Friday night.
With the Rangers tough loss last week against Wilson, they were looking to come back and send the Elks home in defeat. But the Elks has come prepared as well, drawing first blood in the first quarter. They would then turn around and recover a fumble on the very next drive.
With the Rangers backed into a corner, it would either be answer or lie down. The Rangers decided they would answer.
Coming to life for the Rangers, up-and-coming sophomore Ralph Garza ran the ball in for a 25-yard touchdown. They would also capitalize on the extra point, finding David Reyna in the end zone.
With both teams coming to play, the fans were in for an exciting night. Both teams battled hard all night, but in the end, the Rangers were determined to protect their house.
The Rangers sent The Elks home in defeat with a final score of 39-27. Though they be small, the Rangers are here to fight.
The Rangers will face-off against Spur JV in Matador this Thursday.
