Rangers corral Mustangs in week 2 six-man action

PHILIP PRESSON | SPECIAL TO THE TEXAS SPUR TheWilsonMustangs traveled to Patton Springs on Thursday night to face off in what would be the second game of the season for the Rangers.

The Rangers would come out firing, opening up the the quarter with a defensive stop that allowed their offense to drive down with a 30-yard run followed by a rushing touchdown from senior Juan Salas (#2). The Rangers would then find another quick answer on their next offensive possession with a progression down the field capped of by a 15-yard touchdown reception from sophomore Michael Garza (#20) to senior Devon Reyna (#12).

The Mustangs would not back down without a fight, scoring twice in the second quarter.

The Rangers, however, proved resilient as they would come out firing in the second half. The team corralled together to fight to finish off the Mustangs with a final score of 41-27. The Rangers will travel to Rule this Friday to face off against the Bobcats.
