Rangers defeat Eagles 59–44

The Patton Springs Rangers varsity football team faced off against the Southland Eagles Friday night on their home turf. After getting swept by the MC Matadors last week, the Rangers were back and ready to defend the home front.

The Rangers opened up the game with a 50-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by #21, senior Ralph Garza.

The Rangers would then put a quick defensive stop to the Eagles and would be quick to score again when #20, freshman Michael Garza, would find #12, junior Devon Reyna, in the end zone for a 30-yard TD reception

The Eagles, down yet not out, would fight back throughout the night, scoring several times in the first half to make it a game.

But the Rangers would prove relentless throughout the remainder of the night as they would come out after the half and close the gap. They finialized the score and finished the game with a score of 59–44 in the fourth quarter with Ralph Garza returning a 40-yard kickoff touchdown return.

The Rangers will travel to Jayton next week to face off against the Jaybirds at their house.
