Rangers faced off against the Motley County Matadors this week on their own home turf for what would be their 3rd District game of the season.
The Rangers, celebrating their Senior night, came hungry for a fight. They started the game receiving the ball as sophomore Michael Garza (#20) would work hard against the Matadors defense to get his team down the field. The Matadors, however, would stop the Rangers and score offensively three times consecutively. As the fight went on early in the first, the game experienced an hour and a half lightning delay. Minutes before calling the game for the night, the refs gave the all-clear to continue playing—so at 9:30 at night, the first quarter of the resumed.
The Rangers fought hard as Garza connected with senior Juan Salas (#2) for a 30--yard touchdown reception.
The Matadors proved strong, however, as they would close the game out at the half, finishing the Rangers off with a final score of 58-7 for the night.
The Rangers will face the Jaybirds next Thursday at Jayton for what will be their last game of the season.
