I just wanted to say thank you for the Library Notes section of The Texas Spur. I am constantly clipping the reviews from the paper and saving them. I had to share that the review on “Carnegie's Maid” by Marie Benedict led to me submitting it to my book club and it was approved for our list. I presented it last month and all the women loved it and enjoyed reading it, and it prompted some lively discussion about Andrew Carnegie and his mother.
I am also making my way through “Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community” that you recommended in an editorial.
I’ve also purchased “Big Red: Memoirs of a Texas Entrepreneur and Philanthropist” and “The Ballad of Gussie and Clyde: A True Story of True Love” and most recently “Bitcoin and Blockchain Basics Explained.” I appreciate all the work that goes into the book reviews and enjoy reading the paper every week.
