The Northwest Texas Small Business Development program will be hosting an inperson seminar on the basics of QuickBooks at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall of Spur from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on July 7, 2022. The cost of the seminar is $15, which covers the morning and afternoon sessions, seminar materials, lunch and refreshments.
A minimum of five participants registered by the registration deadline at 8 a.m. July 6 will be required for the class to make. Seating will be limited to 15 pre-registered/paid participants and is firstcome first-served.
Registration is a two-step process. First, sign up online at https://nwtsbdc.ecenterdirect.com/events/15846. Then, call Becky Castilleja at (806) 745-1637 or 806-745-3973 to pay the $15 registration fee. No refunds will be given after the registration deadline (8 am 7/6/2022).
The seminar is intended for someone who wants to know the basics of setting up a QuickBooks desktop company file and start entering typical transactions. We will use QuickBooks Pro 2021. Quickbooks assumes that you undertand the basics of ac counting. All learning materials will be provided. You do not need to bring your laptop.
The QuickBooks session will demonstrate:
• Creating a beginning balance sheet for a fictitious company
• Creating and setting up a QuickBooks company file
• Importing a Chart of Accounts from Excel
• Setting up the beginning balance sheet in QuickBooks
• Adding customers and vendors
• Setting up sales tax
• Adding products and buying inventory
• Entering sales and creating invoices
• Creating customer statements
• Collecting payments and depositing funds
• Entering some expenses
• Paying bills
• Exploring some basic financial reports
