According to awardwinning photographers Rick and CJ Boales — retired residents of Spur — camera buffs from around the community and region have brought up the idea of organizing a regional Photography Club. Several Spur and area residents— including a group of 4-H students on a Saturday morning—attended their recent workshops, and reported how much they enjoyed the learning and camaraderie.
“This would be a photo club for ALL folks no matter your age or level of experience,” posted Rick Boales, a former news photographer with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “This club would not be limited to just the Spur area but it would be for anyone in any surrounding counties / communities who would enjoying participating.
Boales described the organization as “a group of likeminded individuals who could get together and talk, learn and share ideas about photography, cameras, techniques, editing, workflow… anything related to the passion that all photographer share.”
The Boaleses have invited readers to email them at rick.boales@gmail.com or reach out on Facebook Messenger if they’d like to share input. (They’d prefer no phone calls, as they’re often out working on photo proejcts in the field.)
