It’s been 10 months since I had my solar panels installed. Many members of the community have asked me how my solar panels are working. There have been lots of questions about them, and I have refrained from talking about them until now.
What was supposed to take four to six weeks has taken much longer. The process from salesman to installers took about three weeks. Great guys, who were knowledgeable about their job, installed the panels and hooked up the electric boxes quickly and with no problems.
Then I spent eight months calling the only number that I was given, or could find on the internet, for answers to why the panels had not been turned on. I knew that the company was communicating with AEP because I was receiving emails from both of them explaining what they needed from each other to get the system up and running. To say the least, it was very frustrating for me.
At the same time, I called the company to explain that I knew the payments on the unit would start in December, but I was not willing to make payments to the solar company and the electric company at the same time. They assured me that until it was working, they would cover the payments.
That didn't happen, and I am still calling Arizona about that and their promise to cover that expense till the system is working.
I want to Thank Ryker Parkinson with Lumio Solar Company for getting my panels on. Ryker isn’t with the company I bought them from. They installed the panels on the 5th of October, and with Ryker’s help, they were successfully turned on in the middle of May.
But only 15 of the 30 panels are working! They received a shipment of inverters from the company, and all 1000 were bad. It does work, but just half of it. Ryker was able to explain to the company in Arizona the paperwork AEP needed to complete the paper trail.
I met Ryker when he visited Serena’s family on a possible installation. He was very interested in getting my unit up and running, so I could share a success story. The company Ryker works with, Lumio Solar Company, successfully installed the panels in their house last week. Theirs should be up and working properly next week.
Mine still aren’t working. Ryker and I both continue to make calls to Arizona to check on my system’s parts. He has also helped me get connected to an electric company that will rollover my unused solar energy each month. That may have been discussed at my initial meeting with the original company, but I have had no contact with that company other than repeatedly calling them about the system not working as promised.
