Sparky Eckles had an 80th birthday celebration recently in Spur. He and Barbara welcomed their four “girls” and their husbands, 12 “grand blessings” and 7 great-grands into their home for the party.
Friends Matt Montoya, Merla Watson, Charlie and Froyne Morris and Laidy Vasquez stopped by for a welcomed birthday hug.
Sparky and Barbara have lived in Spur for 53 years of his eight decades. The couple moved so he could become the ASCS (FSA) manager at the age of 27. Through the next 53 years he and Barbara have raised their four daughters as Spurites and have invested their lives into the city fire department, the school and the Methodist church.
He continues to flash his smile around town!
