Spur approves Argo option for swimming pool

At a special called meeting Wednesday, April 10, 2022, the Spur City Council reviewed options for design of its swimming pool as provided Monday night by donor Argo Blockchain.

Council approved Argo’s own recommendation of Option 1, described as an “8-inch deep tanning ledge roughly 8 to 10 feet in width followed by a drop off to a 3’6”-deep shallow end of the pool, but modified the option to stipulate handrails for entry.

Argo’s options for a barbecue grill and a soft-landing play surface were declined, since these features woud be inaccessible inside the pool fence for the majority of the season.

In other action, the council approved the water connection request for residential developer Ole Olsen, who had sought the city’s cooperation in installing a water line to serve a subdivision of nine homes just outside the western city limits of Spur.

Council also approved the requested water allotment for Mortenson Construction, upon passage of a resolution by the White River Municipal Water District.
