Spur Art Guild Homecoming Show welcomes exhibitors of all ages

Spur artist Vicki Diggs, who is helping organize this year’s Spur Art Guild show and contest, stopped by The Texas Spur offices this week to provide some updates.

Conducted at the Spur Art Guild Building in downtown on September 30, October 1 and October 2, the art competition and show will take place in the following categories: acrylic, oil, watercolor, pastel, graphics, miniatures, photography and youth.

“We’re hoping for 100 or more entries this year,” said Diggs, who hopes that the show will be back and bigger than ever after Covid-related cancellations of last fall’s Homecoming activities.

Guild members have also encouraged local businesses to sponsor purchase awards, which help reward artists for their best creative work and also boost opportunites for young people to create art.

Artist Nathalee Kelly from Snyder will be the 2021 judge, said Diggs.
