SPUR YEARBOOK STAFF
Last Friday, Oct. 20, Spur traveled to Valley to begin district play. The Bulldogs, still short on diversity, showed up prepared for the beginning of the 2023 District Games. Valley came out on top, 53–0.
The team knew it would be tough but played with heart, pressing through until the halftime horn. Ace Walker and Margarito Pecina led the team in tackles, with five each. Walker rushed for seven yards, and Pesina rushed for six during the game.
Steven Hulme was the leader in receiving yards, catching two passes for a total of fifteen yards.
“It was tough to overcome missing players,” said Head Coach Tate Clark. “The kids played hard and just couldn’t get anything going. We will prepare for next week with all our players back for the first time in several weeks.”
This week the Bulldogs will face Vernon Northside at home for their last game of the season. This will also be senior night for the Bulldogs and Spurettes. Come and support your Bulldogs Friday, Oct. 27, at 7:30 p.m.
