Two students from Spur High School Business Professionals of America competed in the Regional Leadership Conference on Saturday, Jan. 23.
Tessah Adams won 1st place in the Advanced Word Processing event, and Tristen Martin won 1st place in the Presentation Management Individual event. Both girls advance to state competition in March.
Due to the pandemic situation, competition was conducted in a new format this year. The regional competition was conducted virtually through uploading of presentation videos and competing online. The BPA State Leadership Conference will also be conducted in a virtual environment.
“It has been a privilege to have the opportunity to continue working with these students through their high school careers,” said advisor Debbi Ball. “Not only have they grown through professional and application skills but have proven through this experience their ability to display flexibility and adaptation while remaining professional.”
Tessah Adams, daughter of Randy and Cindy Adams, is a senior. She has competed on regional and state levels, and this is her fourth year to compete. Tessah did advance to national competition last year but was unable to compete due to the pandemic. Tristen Martin, the daughter of Scott and Lisa Martin, is a junior. This is her third year to compete in BPA; she has competed on regional, state and national levels.
