The City of Spur has scheduled a public hearing for Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, to seek input regarding its proposed RV Parks ordinance, according to city secretary Ashley Carothers. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Spur Community Center, and as this meeting is devoted to public comment, there is no need for individuals to place their namesontheagendain advance.
City attorney Hunter Harris will also be present to help handle questions.
Those wishing to review the proposed ordinance in advance may stop by City Hall during regular hours to pick up a copy. The 23-page document, “Ordinance #721, An Ordinance for Providing for the Installation of RV Parks within the City of Spur, Texas, Requiring an Appliction for a Variance and Permit for the Location and Placement of the Same and Containing Penalties for the Violation of This Ordinance and Containing a Servability Clause,” touches on the following topics:

• Section II: Definitions
• Section III: Permits/Variances
• Section IV: Basic Requirements of RV Parks (with diagrams)
• Section V: Support Facilities and Accessory Buildings with charts and diagrams)
• Section VI: Operation and Use Regulations
• Section VII: Nonconforming Parks; Requirements for Existing Parks
• Section VIII: Inspection, Notice, Appeals and Penalties The hearing comes in response to numerous questions and comments raised at the Spur council’s most recent regular meeting, Jan. 24.
