At a called meeting Friday, June 6, the Spur city council voted to reinstate Ashley Carothers as city secretary through January 1, and will readvertise the position. Carothers has agreed to stay on through January 1, 2024, or until a successor is hired and trained before that date.
The job offer to the previously identified candidate was rescinded after an identified candidate declined the offer.
The new deadline for applications is September 1, 2023. Applications are available at City Hall.
