The highly popular Spur Farmers’ and Crafters’ Market is back this Saturday, July 24, 2021, returning to Rickels Park on Burlington Avenue in downtown Spur from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The market had moved to Swenson Park in June to complement the Big Dog BBQ Cook-off.
Launched in 2020 with grassroots coordination from volunteers and promoted via social media, the Spur market has grown into one of the more popular weekend activities in the area, especially while so many indoor events have been cancelled.
The farmers’ market is coordinated by Kristy Price of Diversions and Michelle Bilbrey of B’s Custom T’s.
According to Bilbrey, more than a dozen vendors have already signed up the farmers’ market on Satuday.
Now that produce is coming into season, it’s the ideal venue for gardeners to sell excess produce.
