Wow! What a beautiful and amazing evening it was for the first Tuesday Scramble of the 2023 season. The weather could not have been more perfect. Thirty-one people came out to participate, with seven teams being formed and three places being paid out.

Shooting31fortheround was the team of Jimmy Ashley, Eddie Clark, Gene Solis, Bobby Condron and Don Kanenski. Gene Solis also got closest to the pin on No. 8 with his drive of 4’9 inches and he got to collect that pot of money.

Coming in second place for the evening and a score of 32 was the team of Landon Hinson, Gene Everhart, Robert Daughtry and Freddy Gonzalez with their score of 32.

Taking home the thirdplace money for the week was the team of Floyd Starkey, Sue Starkey, James Hughes, Kathy Hughes and Cammie Walker with a score of 33.

Way to go everyone! We hope everyone had a great time and will continue to participate throughout the scramble season!

The Spur Golf Association board of directors met of Wednesday, April 12 for their regular monthly board meeting.

The tournament dates have now been set and it should be a really good and fun season! The tournament dates are as follows:

April 29 Youth Baseball Fundraiser 4- Person scramble.

May20/21 Debbie Daughtry Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser 3- Person scramble. Contact Robert Daughtry for information and entry at 806-422-1058.

June 10/11 Hackers Tournament 2-Person scramble Contact Landon Hinson for information and entry at 806-786-5921. Sponsorships are available.

TBD Discussion of Ryder Cup – potential dates July 15/16 or 22/23.

June 17 Junior Class Fundraiser Scramble.

July 29 Fat Daddy’s 3-Man scramble August 26 SALT Scramble/ Alternate shot/Lowball Tournament Two-Person.

September 23 Three- Person Shamble.

October 7/8 or 14/15 – TBD Club Championship & Membership meal.

The SGA recently started offering the Venmo option for payments. If paying with Venmo, please add 2% of entry fee.We are charged 2% to offer the Venmo option and need to pass that charge on for the convenience.

We have lots of good things happening at the course this year. We have so many people that are working hard to keep the course in great shape and improve things where needed so that it is something we can be proud of and for the use and enjoyment of our community! Be sure to thank the Board members for all they do!

The next Board meting will be held at the clubhouse on Wednesday, May 10 beginning at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome and invited to attend.
